Course Goal / Objective

After studying this lesson, students should be able to define general pharmacology and its major subdivisions, describe a drug and explain the differences between a therapeutic effect, side effects, toxic effect, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamic characteristics.

Course Content

Introduction to Pharmacology,classification of medicine, routes of drug administration, absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination of drugs in body, drug interaction , Autonomic Nervous System drugs ,chemotherapeutics, cardiovascular system drugs, Drugs Affecting the Endocrine System, non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, drugs used in the central nervous system diseases and digestive system drugs, respiratory system drugs.
