Course Goal / Objective

It has been aimed to analyze series -which will be collected on the basis of the Turkish economy from the databases related to economic researches- with appropriate statistical methods and show the place of the statistic in the field of economics practically.

Course Content

Data sources; Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey and OECD leading indicators; trend analysis; index types (foreign trade indices, price indices, consumer confidence indices, sectoral confidence indices); various statistics (construction permit statistics, housing sales and price statistics etc.); data reading; inflation calculation; structural properties of gross domestic product; economic fluctuations; Kitchin, Kuznets, Kondratieff cycles; fiscal and monetary statistics; risk measurement are basic issues.
