Course Goal / Objective

The purpose of this lesson is to explain small sample hypothesis tests which are applied when the normal distribution is not satisfied, goodness of fit tests, tests for independency and homogeneity and coefficients of relationship.

Course Content

The course content covers rank and rank-order statistics; chi-square, Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Liliefors and Shapiro- Wilk goodness of fit tests; Levene, Brown-Forsythe and Layard chi-square tests for homogeneity of variances; one sample binomial, sign, Wilcoxon signed rank test and runs test; Mann-Whitney, Wald-Wolfowitz runs and Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests for two-independent samples; chi-square tests for independency and homogeneity and Spearman's rank correlation coefficient and Kendall's tau coefficient of relationship and applications of these methods on SPSS.
