Course Goal / Objective

This lesson determines the develepmental stages throughout the history of professional midwifery, social status of midwifery, characteristics of professional midwifery, duties, authorization and responsibilities of midwife.

Course Content

Description of profession, process of profession and process of historical development, legal responsibities of professional midwifery, human rights, patient rights, national and international midwifery organisations, contemporary roles and responsibilities.
