Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to help students have proficiency in midwifery care to protect and maintain the mother's and newborn's physical, mental and social health in pre-natal, delivery and postpartum with a primary health care approach.

Course Content

The importance and scope of maternal and child health care, Maternal and child health problems in the world and in Turkey, Family structure and health effects, Community recognition and culture, Environmental factors and health effects, Safe motherhood, home visits,pre-natal and post natal care at home,Registration system and the statistics.
