Course Goal / Objective

To introduce different aspects ofcommunication andmulti-dimensional relationship between politicsand communication, to explain and to discussthe historicity ofcommunicationmethods. To be able to synthesize the information in the field of politics and communication and to educate professionals who are in the field of theory and practice about political communication.

Course Content

Explaining and discussing the concept of politicalcommunication, the conceptsrelated politicalcommunication, developmental stages of politicalcommunication within its historical background and forms of political communication. In addition to that, forms of political discourse, political psychology, politics-media relations, media democracy and political campaigns will be examined.

LO02 From an interdisciplinary perspective recognizes and synthesizes the connections between the concepts of politics and communication.

LO04 Produces thoughts and knowledge for understanding and solving the individual, local, national and international political communication problems.
LO05 Develops a sense of responsibility towards the society, as individuals, develops projects for the benefit of the community and develops and uses organization, leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
LO06 Using methods and strategies for developing creative thinking in political communication field, and expresses his/her ideas bythe ways of written, oral, visual and so on.
LO07 Uses theoretical knowledge to explain the effects of political campaigns and advertisements on the image of voters and political leaders.
LO08 Recognizes ethical principles in political communication and strives to comply with ethical principles in all practicesin daily life.
LO09 Follows the local, national and international events and critically comments these events from the point of political communication.
