Course Goal / Objective

This course aims to teach the basic concepts and subjects of cryopreservation.

Course Content

The contents of this course include introduction to the historical development of cryopreservation techniques; slow cooling techniques; rapid cooling techniques; cold hardening, cryoprotectants (DMSO, ethylene glycol, sucrose, mannitol, sorbitol, etc.); vitrification technique and the preparation of vitrification solutions (PVS1, PVS2, PVS3, etc.); desiccation technique (silica gel and laminar flow cabinet); synthetic seed production (encapsulation); encapsulation dehydration; desiccation encapsulation; droplet method.
