Course Goal / Objective
Firstly; to give basic information about the conditions that caused agricultural revolution, the importance of agriculture and its place in the history of civilization, and the present and the future of agriculture. Secondly; to create awareness of professional solidarity, professional ethics, and the conduct of the profession of social responsibility, personal rights of Agricultural Engineering, and the legal regulations related to agricultural engineering.
Course Content
Definition and scope of agricultural history, hunting and gathering in pre-agricultural communities, Agricultural Revolution, Agriculture İn Mesopotamia, Egypt And Anatolia, The industrial revolution and the effects to agriculture, Period of the Republic of agriculture, The definition and scope of Agricultural Engineering, Turkish legislation on Agricultural Engineering, professional organizations of agricultural engineers, objectives and functions of TMMOB and ZMO, Concepts and Theories of Agricultural Ethics, Current agricultural ethical issues.
