Course Goal / Objective

The students learn the necessary basic information to prepare the fertilization programs and to make to make instant interventions when necessary by taking advantage of the results of soil and plant analyzes made pre-season as well as plant analyzes made in-season

Course Content

i) soil and plant factors affecting plants' nutrient uptake from soil, ii) processes affecting the behavior of nutrients applied as fertilizers in soil, iii) criteria affecting soil sampling methods, iv) using soil analysis in problem solving, monitoring nutrition programs and pre-season and in-season nutrient management, v) the different approaches used in nutritional recommedations, vi) use of plant analysis in problem solving, monitoring nutrition programs and pre-season and in-season nutrient management, vii) factors affecting results of plant analysis, viii) possible responses of plants to applied nutrient due to results of plant analyzes, ix) calculation of fertilizer application doses according to results of soil and plant analysis
