Course Goal / Objective

To teach the students the immune system and its components

Course Content

Lymphoid organs Central, Peripheral, Cellular structure, Blood cell manipulation, Neutrophils, Granulocytes, Basophils and mast cells, Eosinophils, Monocytes and macrophages, Reticuloendothelial system, Dendritic cells, Follicular dendritic cells, Thrombocytes, B lymphocytes, Germinal center reactions, Plasma (CD4 T cells), CD8 T cells, T cells, Natural Killer (NK) cells, Major histocompatibility complex (MHC), heat-shock proteins, antigens, immunoglobulins, monoclonal and anti-T cells, T lymphocytes, T helper (TH) subsets Natural and acquired immunity, active passive immunization, hypersensitivity, self-tolerance and autoimmunity, tumor immunity, transplantation immunity, pregnancy and immunity, cytokines, complex systems, arachidonic acid derivatives, adhesion molecules, homing, apoptosis and lymphocyte mediated cytolysis , Other factors that alter the immune complexity
