Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is; to inform the students about the pharmacokinetics, effect mechanisms, therapeutic uses, side effects, contraindications and interactions of drugs acting on the autonomic nervous system and cardiovascular system.

Course Content

Basic information about neurotransmitters and drugs of the autonomic nervous system, cholinomimetic drugs, parasympatholytic drugs, sympathomimetic and sympatholytic drugs, cardiovascular system drugs; antihypertensive drugs, diuretics drugs, antianginal and antiarrhythmic drugs, drugs used against heart failure, beta-adrenergic receptor blockers, hypolipidemic and antithrombotic drugs

LO01 Have basic knowledge about autonomic nervous system, neurotransmitters and drugs.
LO02 It learns receptors and subtypes of the autonomic nervous system and interprets cellular events that develop over these receptors.
LO03 It has information about the pharmacokinetics, mechanism of action, side effects, contraindications of parasympathomimetic and parasympatholytic drugs.
LO04 It has information about pharmacokinetics, mechanism of action, side effects, contraindications of sympathomimetic and sympatolitic drugs.
LO05 They know the basic mechanisms that regulate the functioning of the cardiovascular system and classify medicines that are used in the treatment of disorders that occur in their disorder.
LO06 It has information about pharmacokinetics, mechanism of action, side effects, contraindications of cardiovascular system drugs.
