Course Goal / Objective

It is aimed to inform the students about basic toxicology, specific toxicology issues, target organ toxicity, xenobiotic toxicity and poisoning.

Course Content

History of toxicology and general concepts; toxicity tests; toxicokinetics; mechanisms of toxic effects; factors affecting toxicity; classification of toxic effects; genotoxic effects and factors; teratogenicity and teratogenic compounds; carcinogenicity and carcinogenic compounds; allergic reactions and immunotoxic effect; genetic polymorphism; toxicological evaluation of drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-nutrient interactions; acute poisoning treatment.
