Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this lecture is to give some basic principles about thermodynamic laws, ideal gases and main thermodynamic processes in ideal gase, humit air and humit air processes (Psychrometry), gas power cycles, steam power cycles, refrigeration cycles, the designing and managing of ventilation, heating, cooling systems of agricultural structures (Livestock and greenhouse) and process plant systems for agricultural products.

Course Content

Introduction, properties of the ideal gases and equation of state for ideal gases, real gases, thermodynamic laws, main thermodynamic processes in ideal gases, water vapour and processes in water vapour, psychrometry and basic psychrometric processes, gas power cycles, vapour power cycles, refrigeration cycles, one-dimensional steady-state heat conduction, conductive heat transfer at the single and composite the slab, the cylinder and the sphere, convective heat transfer (free and forced convection), heat transfer by radiation.
