Course Goal / Objective

To strengthen the ties between the university and the society using the experiences, knowledge and skills learnt throughout their education life. To help them gain a sense of responsibility for humane, social and economic issues and topics of the society such as migrations, natural disasters, disabled individuals and disadvantage groups. To increase awareness and visibility of these subjects through volunteering; through improvement of cultural and ethical values. To help students volunteer in a field of their choice with a designated plan for a semester and share their results.

Course Content

Management and organisational concepts; volunteering and Volunteer management; fundamental fields of volunteering ( Natural Disasters and Crisis, environment, education and culture, sports, health and social services); Volunteering Project Development and volunteering in the field; volunterring in local governments and non governmental organisations; High risk groups in the society and volunterring; Immigirants and Volunterring

LO01 Students have implemented the social responsibility projects they have designed and have gained necessary skills to implement new ones in future.
LO02 Students have familiarized and got into contact with different social environments and networks throughout their projects
LO03 Students are able to develop egalitarian relationships with different stakeholders in the social problem area they are working, including people coming from different socio-economic backgrounds.
LO04 Students have more familiar with different student clubs and research centers at university and different NGOs working in the area under consideration.
LO05 Students are able to evaluate and present their experiences in and outputs they got from the project implementation phase,
LO06 Students have increased their motivation to take part in different activities of different non-governmental organizations
