Course Goal / Objective

To comprehend the concept of critical thinking and critical thinking strategies, to understand the importance of reading and understanding, to understand reading approaches, methods and techniques, to understand the basic concepts of critical reading and the basic characteristics of critical reader, to recognize propaganda techniques, to recognize the features of text types and to make critical reading practices.

Course Content

Definition and scope of critical thinking, critical thinking strategies; the importance of reading and understanding; reading approaches, methods and techniques; basic concepts of critical reading, basic qualities of critical reader, propaganda techniques, recognition of the features of text types.and critical reading practices.
