Course Goal / Objective
To teach the economic importance, production and export possibilities in the world and Mediterranean countries of citrus fruits for the purpose of learning the citrus industry. Moreover teaching the methods and characteristics to identify citrus genus, species and varieties. Teaching morphology, biology and physiology of citrus, new citrus varieties in the world and Turkey and ecological requirements, modern citrus growing techniques (irrigation, fertilization, frost protection methods, etc.), citrus nursery, propagation methods, mainly used citrus rootstocks, orchard establishment
Course Content
The economis imprtance of citrus in the world, production and export possibilities of citrus fruits in the world and Mediterranean countries, identification of the citrus genus, species and varieties.
