Course Goal / Objective
It is aimed to reveal economic, social, cultural and ecological features that determine the concept of tourism which has a significant impacts on the environement. In this context, the sustainability of the resources is provided by the assistance of tools and methods with qualitative and quantitative indicators.
Course Content
Definition of leisure time, receration and tourism concepts. Development trends of tourism as a sector and its impacts on environmental resources.Natural and social background that affects tourism development.Sustainability, sustainable development and turism. Reasons for adopting sustainable tourism approach.Outcomes of sustainable tourism applications.Carrying capacity in tourism.Tourism planning for protecting cultural and natural resources.Integration of environmental and societal issues into tourism planning.
