Course Goal / Objective

It is aimed to teach evaluation of the patients prior to rehabilitate with prosthesis and surgical approaches, evaluation of the patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy, diagnosis and management of the odontogenic infections, antibiotic prophylaxis, endodontic surgery, biopsy techniques, surgical excision of cyst and tumor

Course Content

preprosthetic surgery, management of the patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy, treatment principles of odontogenic infections, bacterial endocarditis and wound prophylaxis, endodontic surgery, principles of differential diagnosis and biopsy, surgical treatment of odontogenic cysts and tumors.

LO01 Describes the hard and soft tissue abnormalities before preprosthetic surgery and determines the surgical techniques.
LO02 Describes the oral and systemic findings in patient underwent chemotherapy or head-neck radiotherapy, take precautions for surgical approaches and refers the patient to a specialist, if necessary.
LO03 Determines the odontogenic infections and risks, lists in order the treatment principles and refers the patient to a specialist, if necessary.
LO04 Differentiates the conditions requires bacterial endocarditis and wound prophylaxis and defines the antibiotics regime.
LO05 Lists in order the endodontic surgery indications, describes the surgical technique and complications.
LO06 Lists in order the biopsy indications of the lesions observed in oral and maxillofacial region, describes the biopsy techniques used for differential diagnosis and refers the patient to a specialist, if necessary.
LO07 Describes the surgical techniques used for odontogenic cyst treatment and refers the patient to a specialist, if necessary.
LO08 Describes the surgical techniques used for odontogenic tumor treatment and refers the patient to a specialist, if necessary.
