Course Goal / Objective

To inform about the diseases seen in the orofacial region and the systemic diseases which locally and radiographically signs and symptoms in this region; to introduce advanced imaging methods used in diagnosis of dentomaxillofacial diseases, to inform about premalign lesions and oral cavity cancers.

Course Content

Oral and radiological findings of systemic diseases, Advanced imaging methods, Premalign lesions, Oral cavity cancers, Salivary gland diseases.

LO01 Recognizes the common systemic diseases such as cardiovascular, endocrine, immune, gastrointestinal, urinary, repiratory, hematology, neuromuscular system diseases which may manifest orofacially.
LO02 Explains diagnostic methods and treatment plannings of the salivary gland diseases.
LO03 Identifies and distinguishes premalign lesions.
LO04 Recognizes and distinguishes the clinical manifestations of oral cavity cancers.
LO05 Identifies advanced imaging methods used in dental radiology and explains their usage areas.
