Course Goal / Objective

The aim of the course is to provide the students with a general knowledge on the subjects, theories and applications of industrial and organizational psychology as a basic and applied science and to use this knowledge in their fields of application. Industrial and Organizational Psychology is concerned with the appropriate use of people or human resources, and grew out of the management perspective of organizational efficiency. Personnel psych emphasizes efficient job design, employee selection and training, and performance appraisal.

Course Content

This course will provide an introduction to Industrial and Organizational Psychology, a scientific discipline that studies human behavior in the workplace. Organizational psychologists help institutions hire, manage, support employees. Their work contributes to outcomes such as better talent to achieve the strategic goals of the organization, reduced turnover, increased productivity, and improved employee engagement. Job analysis, personnel selection and placement methods, performance evaluation, motivation, stress and coping in the workplace are the content of this course.
