Course Goal / Objective
The general aim of the course is to provide prospective teachers with knowledge and skills in assessment practices and processes in preschool education program, tools for recognizing and evaluating the child, ); alternative evaluation methods, points to be considered in evaluating classroom learning, assessment of early academic skills.
Course Content
Evaluation in early childhood education program; tools for multi-faceted recognition of the child (observation, interview, product file, research papers, research projects, peer assessment, self-assessment, attitude scales, rubrics, checklists, diaries, anecdotal record); alternative evaluation methods (performance evaluation, game based evaluation); points to be considered in the evaluation of student success; tools used in the evaluation of early academic skills; evaluation of learning outcomes.
