Course Goal / Objective
To improve students' policy development and discussion skills by examining the aims, tools and effects of agricultural policies and their applications within the context of economic theory and national and global economic relations and constraints.
Course Content
Basic concepts and issues; policy-economy relations; state and market interventions; purpose, means and decision process of economic policies; macroeconomic policies and agriculture; State aids, causes and subsidies in agriculture; the scope, objectives and tools of agricultural policies; general and agricultural effects of intervention in agriculture; agricultural structure, production, price, market and income policies; foreign trade policies; globalization and agricultural policies
