Course Goal / Objective
To give information about fiber, yarn and fabric quality control tests, working principles of the devices used for these testsand related standards.
Course Content
Test and atmospheric conditions in textile. Sampling methods for testing. Test methods used to determine fiber length, fineness, maturity degree and amount of foreign matter. Basic principles and methods used in measuring the strength of textile materials. Yarn count, twist, evenness and hairiness measurement. Methods used to determine the basic physical (weight, thickness, density, etc.) and performance properties (attitude, drape, strength, comfort, fastness, etc.) of fabrics.
