Course Goal / Objective

To provide students with knowledge and competence abouth basic characteristics of microorganisms, microorganism-host relationships and immunity system, antimicrobial drugs and resistance mechanisms.

Course Content

Includes the topics related to basic microbiology addressing microorganisms - antimicrobial drugs - host relationships.

LO02 Has basic knowledge about bacterial, fungal, viral and parasitic infectious agents.
LO03 Understands the mutualistic and parasitic relationships between microorganisms and host organism.
LO04 Understands the immune system.
LO05 Understands the antimicrobial drugs and resistance mechanisms
LO06 Explains the concepts of sterilization, disinfection, antisepsis.
