Course Goal / Objective

The scope of this course is to teach NMR techniques and use them to determine the structure of drug active substances and bioactive compounds.

Course Content

Basic concepts in NMR spectroscopy, Nuclear spin and resonance, The chemical shift and the factors effecting chemical shift in NMR, Solvents in the NMR, Spin-spin coupling, Using 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectra to determine and evaluate in the synthesis of drug molecules, 2D-COSY, APT, DEPT, HETCOR, HMQC and NOE spectroscopic techniques in the NMR. Two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy in the characterization and stereochemistry determination of drugs and bioactive molecules
