Course Goal / Objective
To understand the importance of hydraulics and hydrology in engineering plan and project studies. To have the ability to solve basic problems related to these issues.
Course Content
Basic properties of fluids; Fluid statics; Continuity and Bernoulli equation; Energy exchange and energy losses in closed pipes; Comparison of open channel flow and pipe flow; Flow regimes in open channels; Open channel geometry, relationships between slope and velocity; Hydrological cycle; System concept in hydrology; Analysis of precipitation data; Stream flow, level-flow rate relationship; Hydrograph analysis.
