Course Goal / Objective
To provide fundemental concepts of irrigation and drainage; irrigation and crop water requirement concepts; irrigation water measuring techniques; supplying irrigation water; irrigation scheduling approaches; irrigation methods; drainage methods; data and information required for irrigation and drainage system design and evaluation.
Course Content
Definition of irrigation and drainage systems and their importance; history of irirgation and drainage; crop-soil-water relations; crop water requirement and irrigation water requirement; irrigation efficiencies; irrigation system capacity; drainage systems; information required for design and evaluation of irrigation and drainage systems.
