Course Goal / Objective
In this course, the students will be informed about the development of children literature in Turkey and in the world; the importance of introducing eligible books to children at early ages and the functions of children literature products on individuals having reading habit. In this course, it is essentially aimed at introducing children literature products suitable for especially 0-6 ages.It is also focused on the analysis of the relationship between media culture and development of children.
Course Content
Evaluation of readiness for elementary school and responsibilities of parents and educational professionals in transition to elementary school is taught by lecturing. The signaficance of early childhood education and elementary school in life of child, readiness for elementary school and factors affecting it, and the relationship between language and literacy.
