Course Goal / Objective
To teach archaeology students about the earliest traces and patterns of fire, which triggered many technical developments.
Course Content
Mankind's acquaintance with fire and discovery of its control gave rise to many innovations and discoveries which led to very important changes in the conditions and manner of people's lives and which was the reason for very important changes in kinds of human behavior. The subject of our relationships today with fire will be opened. But when and how fire was discovered, when people controlled and how it developed is under discussion. In the class fire will be examined from the perspective of this discussion, and the archaeological traces of fire and interpretative approaches to these traces will be explained to the students.
