Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to provide the pre-service teachers to be aware of the characteristics of alternative education practices preferred in primary schools, their causes, advantages and disadvantages, and the teaching process.

Course Content

Affecting education in Turkey geographical, social and economic factors, ways to meet children's educational needs in rural and dispersed settlements, Transported Elementary Education, advantages and disadvantages of Transported Elementary Education, regional primary boarding schools, advantages and disadvantages of regional primary boarding schools, teaching for Multigrade schools, Causes of Multigrade classrooms, basic foundations of teaching in Multigrade schools, planning of teaching for Multigrade classrooms, classroom management and evaluation activities, duties and responsibilities of teachers in Multigrade classrooms, teaching practices in Multigrade classrooms around the World.
