Course Goal / Objective

In this course, it is aimed to give an insight to students to examine a variety of philosophical and practical approaches to ethical and moral definitions of right and wrong in terms of communicative acts, rules and professional behavior, ethical and social change, popular culture and ethics, ethics in the media. Students will be able to apply the theoretical background to daily examples. professional ethic rules, self-kontrol mechanism, ethic codes and rules should be internalized by communication students.

Course Content

Course schedule will include; the history of ethical theory point of view, the different approaches: deontologicalteleological ethics, utlitiarianist ethics, discursive ethics, communication, ethics Transition to professional ethics and communication ethics will be realized after general ethics, and journalism ethics, public relations ethics and new media ethics will be discussed detailly.
