Course Goal / Objective

The aim of the course is to define the internal and external structure properties of the building elements in terms of materials, to identify and evaluate the physical and chemical effects encountered in the structure by the deformation processes, to understand the production and application processes of building products with binders, aggregates, concrete, mortars.

Course Content

Micro, macro and meso structure definition in building product design, physical-chemical-mechanical factors determining the character of building product and shapes of deformation. Definition of material and design-material relation in the space design and definition of basic material families: Bonders, Aggregates, Concretes, Mortars, Clay building materials and production processes of building products, model and case-by-case evaluation.
