Course Goal / Objective

To teach the fundamental principles of mechanics supported by various laboratory experiments.

Course Content

Physics and measurement, Vectors, Motion in one dimension, Planar motion, Dynamics of particle, Work and energy, Linear Momentum and Collisions, Kinematics of rotations, Rotation of a rigid object about a fixed axis. In add,t,on the following experiments are carried out by each student during the semester and the student submits a report for each experiment on time: addition of forces on a force table, one dimensional uniform motion, motion with constant acceleration, projectile motion, to find the value of gravitational acceleration by various methods, elastic and inelastic collisions, some demo experiments.
