Course Goal / Objective

General objective of the course: Have the students gain knowledge, skills, attitudes and understanding related to group counseling..

Course Content

The content course includes these topics: The general characteristics of group counseling. Comparing individual counseling with group counseling. The types of groups. Ethical issues for group counseling. The procedure to be followed for the arrangement of the groups, The selection of the group members. Stages and characteristics of group counseling process. The role of group counselor in different group stages and personal qualifications of group leader. Helping skills and basic techniques in group counseling. Difficult group members and their characteristics.
