Course Goal / Objective
RPD 309 Principles and Techniques of Individual Counseling and RPD 308 Group Counseling Principles and Techniques to gain experience by transferring knowledge and skills to the client-counselor relationship, In addition, students use emotional, behavioral and intellectual techniques and methods based on various theories in the process of individual counseling. It is aimed that they gain experience by managing the individual counseling process of at least four sessions.
Course Content
In this course, students are expected to find a counselor who has a psychological counseling process, consult with them and develop their counseling skills by taking supervision in this process. Each consultation session is written, the sessions are monitored during the course - read from transcript forms and feedback is given to the sessions. The main subject of the course: General repetition of the Individual Counseling Principles and Techniques course, basic counseling practices, reviewing sample counseling sessions, a counselor candidate getting burervision for each session in a 4-session process.
