Course Goal / Objective

To teach replica techniques of traditional and contemporary printmaking both theoretically and practically

Course Content

The course includes information about the history, development stages, art-artists and techniques of the art of printmaking. Theoretical knowledge is given about the folowing techiniques of printmaking; Stencil, Monotype, linocut, wood, engraving, silk screen, lithography, collography and on modern techniques. Original single and multi-color, and single or multi-pattern printmaking is practised using the techniques that are eligible for the workshop.

LO01 Knows the definition, the history and the development phases of the art of printmaking.
LO02 Knows what kind of physical hardwares printmaking workshops should have, and recognizes and uses all technical tools and utensils.
LO03 Knows printmaking techniques theoretically and practically and implements them by means of individual research.
LO04 Reproduces an original design using single or multi-press molding by conventional techniques.
LO05 Searches the discovery and the possibilities of the printmaking techniques which can be used together experimentally
LO06 Explores emerging technologies to use replication techniques of contemporary printmaking.
LO07 Knows which printmaking techniques are feasible in the workshop conditions of the Primary and secondary education institutions along with the appropriate tools and instruments; knows ho to use these techniques
