Course Goal / Objective

Aim of this course is to teach the importance of social theories, social issues and sociological perspectives in physical education.

Introduction to sociology of physical education, the role of physical education in society, social theories and physical education, equal opportunities in physical education, gender and social class in physical education, child protection policies in physical education and sport, international physical education and sport policies, health and sport policies and physical education

LO01 The student has theoretical knowledge about concepts and principles in the field of Physical Education Teacher
LO02 The student has knowledge about learning outcomes, course contents, teaching processes, teaching techniques, methods, models and tools as well as measurement and evaluation of pre-school, elementary, middle and high school curriculum.
LO03 The student has knowledge about characteristics of pre-school, elementary, middle and high school students regarding developmental, learning and learning difficulties.
LO04 The student has knowledge about the ways of accessing scientific knowledge and reports, as well as following, interpreting, evaluating and applying that knowledge in the field of Physical Education Teacher.
LO05 The student has knowledge about the current situation of physical education teacher education programs within national and international cultures.
LO06 The student is able to use and transfer and efficiently the concepts, principles and theoretical knowledge about the field of physical education teacher.
LO07 The student defines a problem as a research topic faced in process of class and school to develop solutions after analyzing and interpreting the results by using appropriate research design, method, techniques and data collection.

LO09 The student has knowledge, skills, and attitudes about fundamental movement skills, specific movement skills, sport skills, active participation and healthy lifestyle
LO10 The student is able to plan learning process, use appropriate materials, teaching learning models, strategies, methods, techniques and evaluate learning outcomes using multiple intelligence tools by considering preschool, elementary, middle and high school students' developmental characteristics, individual differences and learning environments.
LO11 The student takes part and responsibilities in the process of quality management as a group member or leader in order to enhance school and the society constantly.
LO12 The student is able to maintain constantly professional development and evaluate critically previously acquired knowledge and skills by participating in professional development programs national and international level organized by universities, other schools or organizations as well as in-service teacher education activities
LO13 The student is accepted as a teacher at schools located in different socio-cultural environment and serves as a model. Student also plans and implements social responsibility projects and activities in order to improve social and cultural life.
LO14 The students has conscious about universality of social rights, social justice and protection of cultural values.
LO15 The student is able to use the language (Turkish) correctly and effectively. She/he needs to know at least one foreign language in order to communicate with her/his colleagues and get information in the field and behaves in accordance with ethical values related to the scientific and professional field.
