Course Goal / Objective

To learn the importance of the environment on tourism development and the effects of general concepts related to the environment, the effects of tourism activities on the natural environment, ecological risk analysis, the importance of the environment in terms of sustainable tourism.

Course Content

The environment and environmental values, pollution on environmental values, environmental economics, tourism in relation to the environment, sustainable development, sustainable tourism policy and planning.

LO05 Explains the relationship between development and environment, knows the importance of Stockholm Conference, Agenda 21 and Rio Conference.

LO07 Explain the concepts of social responsibility and environmentally sensitive management in businesses.
LO08 Explains the programs and certification practices that encourage environmental practices in accommodation establishments.
LO09 It provides information on green hospitality, waste management, energy and water management.
LO10 Explain the effects of operators producing mass tourism or special interest tours on environmental degradation.
