Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to teach students production, consumption, art and culture of the prehistoric and historical periods, and help them gain a general point of view to the historical events and concepts.

Course Content

Cultural steps that the humanity went through are examined starting from Primates to Homo Ludens. These steps are handled taking especially the production-consumption relationship into consideration. History of Civilization course is studied as three basic parts: production and cultural structure in the achaic period, feudality, industrial revolution, and information age. The information related to these periods are also connected with Turkish society.
