Course Goal

Comprehends the importance of basic toxicology and special toxicology issues. Explain the importance of target organ toxicity, xenobiotic toxicity and poisoning, including drugs.

Course Content

History of toxicology and general concepts; toxicity tests; toxicokinetics; mechanisms of toxic effects; factors affecting toxicity; classification of toxic effects; genotoxic effects and factors; teratogenicity and teratogenic compounds; carcinogenicity and carcinogenic compounds; allergic reactions and immunotoxic effect; genetic polymorphism; toxicological evaluation of drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-nutrient interactions; acute poisoning treatment.
