Course Goal

To teach structure of the earth and earthquakes. To explain the principles of earthquake resistant design in reinforced concrete structural systems. To teach the cases of irregularity in buildings and their solutions.

Course Content

Earth's structure. Earthquake and earthquake parameters. Concrete and reinforced concrete building material. Creation of structural system in reinforced concrete structures. Earthquake resistant building design. Structural system irregularities and solutions.
