Course Goal / Objective
With this course, the student will gain competencies about the concepts of occupational health and safety.
Course Content
Occupational health and safety concept, definition, scope and purposes. Concepts of danger and risk. Definitions of Occupational Accidents and Occupational Diseases, Costs of Occupational Accidents, Occupational Risks Threatening Employees; Physical, Ergonomic, Chemical, Biological, Personal and Psychosocial Risks. Preventive OHS Approaches. Risk Assessment, Work Environment Surveillance. Health Surveillance and Occupational Medicine. OHS Training and Inspection. Causes of Work Accidents and Precautions to be Taken. Responsibility of Employer, Employer's Representative and Occupational Safety Experts in Occupational Accident .
