Course Goal

It aims to specifically identify the pests that are problem in cultivated plants grown in greenhouses, which is one of the important agricultural productions, on the basis of the host plant. It is also aims to identification of sampling, biology, damage pattern of these pests and especially management them by using sustainable control methods (Biological control, Biotechnical control, Integrated Pest Management).

Course Content

Brief historical development of greenhouse cultivation and evaluation of its basic principles and entomological problems in comparison with other agro-ecosystems. It includes the introduction of cultivated plants grown under cover and the pests encountered in these plants, their biology, damage types, sampling and sustainable control methods.
