Course Goal
The objective of the course to explain approaches of critical mass communication theories concerning mass communication, and relationship between mass media and society and to help students to gain critical perspective.
Course Content
In the course will be explained critical mass communication theories as a continuation of mainstream communication theories. Critical mass communication theories will be explained as historical, social, cultural and political. In this context, the course contains these subject; Frankfurt School, political economic approaches, cultural studies, linguistic and semiotic approaches, feminist media studies and technological approaches.
