Course Goal / Objective

The aim of the Lesson, which is basically based on teaching the birth and development of Modern Turkey: To give accurate information about the Kemalist Thought System, the History of the Republic of Turkey and the threats to Turkey and the practices of the Kemalist Thought System; To train and strengthen Turkish youth in an indivisible integrity with their country, nation and state, in line with the Kemalist Thought System, and to unite them around national goals; is to raise individuals who are rational, modern, honorable, hardworking, full of love for the country and nation, with a personality consisting of tolerance and humane ideas.

Course Content

Overview of the reasons that prepared the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and the Turkish Revolution, the disintegration of the Ottoman Empire, the Armistice of Mudros, the situation of the country against the occupations and the reaction of Mustafa Kemal Pasha, the departure of Mustafa Kemal Pasha to Samsun, the organization through congresses, the Kuvayi Milliye and the Misak-ı Milli. The opening of the T.B.M.M. and its handling of the War of Independence, the National Struggle until the Battle of Sakarya, the Battle of Sakarya and the Great Offensive, the National Struggle in the field of education and culture, the National Struggle in the social and economic field and from Mudanya to Lozana. Proclamation of the Republic and political, social and cultural reforms, economic breakthroughs. Problems that the Lausanne Peace Treaty could not solve and their conclusion, Movements against the new order, Multi-party life trials and their results. Turkish Foreign Policy in the Atatürk period. İnönü period and the Second World War years. Turkey's transition to a multi-party system. Democratic Party era and beyond. Kemalism and Ataturk's Principles
