Course Goal

It is possible that similar goods have been exchanged since the second half of the 3rd millennium BC, and it is possible that the regional centers have cooperated for trade, and that settlements such as Kültepe, Alacahöyük, Acemhöyük, Karahöyük, Seyitömer, Küllüoba, Liman Tepe, Miletos and Troy, which are important centers in Anatolia, are in this trade network. The aim of this course is to understand the trade network and its functioning in this period.

Course Content

In the Early and Middle Bronze Age, cultural transfers within Anatolia, especially a comprehensive trade network built on the distribution of metals with other raw materials and goods, interregional technological and economic interaction situations, economic value goods and raw materials, on the other hand, metallurgical developments, pottery production. The similarities and differences of new technologies and ideas between cultures, from architecture to religious beliefs, seal making, constitute the content of this course.
