Course Goal

The aim of this course is to convey developments and new techniques in the field of local government, to examine and analyze their applicability. In particular, the changes in local governance patterns in the modernization agenda, the social effects of public policy changes, democracy, public participation and community participation will be discussed in detail.

Course Content

Within the scope of this course, the duties and roles of local governments will be discussed how to create and maintain environmentally friendly, economically prosperous and socially equitable sustainable communities. The interrelated elements that make a community livable, the effective use of tools and resources for sustainable community development will be addressed holistically.
