Course Goal

Aim of this course is to teach history of local governments with its structure in Turkey and to discuss its problems

Course Content

In this course, the concept of Local Administration, its definition and nature. Concepts of centralized administration and decentralization. Reasons for existence of local administrations. Regulation of intergovernmental relations. Regulation of intergovernmental relations. Revenue distribution between central administration and local administration. Revenue distribution between the central administration and the local administration. Local Administrations in Turkey. Local Administrations in Turkey. Provincial Special Administrations. municipalities. Iller Bank and Local Administrations. Restructuring issues in local administrations are examined
