Course Goal

The aim of this course is to examine the prominent current research topics in the field of mathematics education and sample articles on these topics.

Course Content

Within the scope of this course, prominent current research topics in the field of mathematics education and sample articles on these topics will be examined. Articles published in the last 5 years of journals such as Educational Studies in Mathematics, Journal for research in Mathematics Education, International Journal for Technology in Mathematics Education will be discussed. In addition to these, the topics to be discussed in the course content: Teaching of mathematics concepts, misconceptions in mathematics education, mathematical literacy, socio-scientific issues, analogy, model use in mathematics teaching, teaching methods such as cooperative learning.
