Course Goal

The main aim of this course is to teach to Ph.D. candidates how to develop psychometric measurement tools (scales), which are frequently used in educational researches, or how to determine validity and reliability of psychometric measurement tools that are planned to be used in a research.

Course Content

Students know the definition of scale concept. Students can explain the “structure” and “factor” concepts related to scale. Students can give scores of the scale items. Students can analyze the raw data of a scale (e.g. outlier, missing value and repeated measure). Students can apply explanatory factor analysis on scale data. Students can revise the factor structure of a scale. Students can apply confirmatory factor analysis on scale data. Students can determine index values of a scale. Students can determine reliability index of a scale. Students make comparison analysis to determine the validity of a scale.

Course Precondition

Students' must take a basic statistic course in master of education process.
